Ten-wicket haul for Royal as Jamaica beat Guyana
KINGSTOWN, St Vincent, CMC – Jeavor Royal finished with a ten-wicket match haul as Jamaica defeated Guyana by 39 runs inside two days, in their opening round three-day game of the Regional Under-19 Championship

Playing at Park Hill, Guyana were set 152 for victory but were dismissed for 112 in their second innings, as Jamaica leapt to the top of the standings.
Keemo Paul top-scored with 35 but Javelle Glenn ripped apart the innings with five for 27 while Royal picked up for four 23.
Royal, who had earlier taken six for 29 in Guyana’s first innings of 121, finished with match figures of ten for 52.
In their run chase, Guyana lost Raymond Perez cheaply for four with the score on 13 but Joshua Persaud (28) and Ronaldo Renee (24) combined in a second wicket stand of 34 to steady the innings.
Persaud faced 52 balls and struck three fours and a six while Renee faced 61 deliveries and counted three fours.
Both were dismissed by Glenn in a side that saw three wickets fall for 25 runs, to leave Guyana on 72 for four.
However, West Indies Under-19 star Paul produced a cameo knock, banging two fours and three sixes off just 21 balls, as he put on 32 for the fifth wicket with Trevor Persaud (12).
Once Paul became Glenn’s third wicket at 104 for five, six wickets fell for eight runs in a swift collapse.
Jamaica, who led by 22 runs on first innings, had been earlier dismissed cheaply for 129 in their second innings with Royal top-scoring with 44.
The innings was slumping at 50 for six when Royal arrived to add 39 for the seventh wicket with Rashjni Roye (12), and 40 for the eighth with Andre Bailey (18), to prop up the innings.
Royal struck four fours and two sixes off 46 deliveries.
