A fire of unknown origin yesterday morning gutted a two-storey building at Industry,
Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara. Seven persons, including three children are homeless as a result.
Bartley Wilson, the owner of the house, said that the fire started at around 08:30 hrs in one of the apartments he had been renting, and quickly spread throughout the entire building.
A source from the Guyana Fire Service said that the blaze is suspected to be electrical in nature, but this is yet to be confirmed.
