The Chief Executive Officer of Sentinel Security, MRS. Noreen Gaskin has renewed her annual sponsorship of the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club, MS annual Gregory Gaskin Memorial Berbice Sports Award Programme. The Award is organised in memory of Gregory Gaskin, late CEO of the COPS Security Firm who died in a tragic motor cycle accident several years ago.
Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster expressed gratitude to MRS. Gaskin and Sentinel Security for renewing their support for Berbice’s most popular sports award. The Award which honours the memory of Gaskin, an outstanding supporter of sports, would see four major awards been shared out. The presentation ceremony of the 2016 Berbice Sports Awards has been scheduled for Friday 22nd of September at the ST. Francis Community Developers Training Centre. Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo has been invited to deliver the feature address and the four awards to be handed out are the Berbice Sportsman of the Year 2015, Berbice Sportswoman of the Year 2015, Berbice Sports Association of the Year 2015 and Berbice Sports Personality of the Year 2015.
Foster stated that the main objectives of the award scheme are to recognise the achievements of outstanding sports personality in Berbice, to provide role models for youths in Berbice and to inspire youths and organisations to achieve more success. The RHTYSC, Foster stated was passionate about honouring all heroes in the county of Berbice and stated that the Club was pleased to work along with Sentinel Security to honour true heroes.
Regional Manager of Sentinel MS. Priya Rampersaud in handing over the cheque stated that her company was pleased to be associated with Guyana’s leading youth and sports organisation in honouring the outstanding personalities in Berbice Sports. Sentinel, she stated was delighted at the way the RHTYSC, MS administered the Award over the years and it intends to continue the sponsorship in the future.
