Ogle Sports Club of East Coast Demerara has expressed their disappointment at the omission of batsman Andrew Samaroo and left arm spinner Michael Pooran from the national U15 team selected for the upcoming Regional tournament.
A release from the club stated that the players were included in the squad that was submitted to the Guyana Cricket Board but the club later learnt that they were not on the final team selected.
The release indicated that other members of the club as well as the young cricketers are disappointed since they would have performed creditably in the inter-county tournament which was used to select the team.
Samaroo got among the runs, while Pooran picked up 4-24 in the final against Berbice. Additionally a reliable source from the club informed that spinner Daniel Mootoo and Andre Seepersaud who both turned in commendable performances in the inter-county competition were also not selected and questioned their omission.
