Seven teams will battle for supremacy in the 3rd Rock Entertainment 2nd Annual Basketball Tournament beginning August 06th, 2016 at the Mackenzie Sports Club Ground.
According to Coordinator Colin Adams a seventh team is added. “Kwakwani team for the first time will be playing in this competition. The KK team will bring extra hype to the tournament because of the ability of the players and the Linden teams will have a stronger challenge.”
Adams noted that there will be three referees per game instead of two in the previous competition. Two of the referees are Georgetown based. “Each game will have Georgetown referees because we don’t want players to have any feud with referees.”
The teams are Retrieve Raiders, Bankers trust Falcons, Amelia’s ward Jets, Victory Valley Royals, Block 22 Flames, Half Mile Bulls the reigning Champions and Kwakwani. The tournament will be played on five days August 06th, 07th, 13th, 14th and the finals will be played on the 20th.
Adams would like to thank the sponsors Office of the Prime Minister, RDC#10, MP Jermaine Figueria, Trophy Stall, Banks DIH, Somerset Grocery, Clint’s Fashion, Linmine Secretariat, South Girl Mall and Chill Spot and New Step for coming on board to make this tournament a success.
Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners, MVP and the most disciplined team. (Jacquey Bourne)
