Despite the inclement weather Cat Messiah of the Ghansham Singh Stale of No6 West Coast Berbice returned to winning ways when it whipped the field to win by about 10 lengths and take the feature event when the Guyana Association of Women Police (GAWP) held a grand one day horserace meet yesterday.
The event which was held at the Bush Lot United Turf Club Sea View Park, Bush Lot, West Coast, Berbice, saw Cat Messiah ridden by Paul Delph defying the damp conditions to beat Settling Star and Glamour Queen for the impressive win in the 1600M event.
The win was worth $300,000 and the banks DIH Trophy.
Other winners on the day were Red jet in the K class race, Royal Jet of the Carmichael Stable in the Event for 2 year old animals, Sea Bird in the L and lower event and Dirt Man in an L class event. The top jockey on show was Colin Ross. (Samuel Whyte)
