The police didn’t shy away from charging one of their fellow ranks after he was found culpable of damaging a vehicle belonging to the Ministry of the Presidency recently. H was also accused of assault causing actual bodily harm.
The charges were laid against Kamal Narine, a/k “Kadir”, of La Bagatelle, Leguan, Essequibo River. Narine is scheduled to make his second appearance at the Leguan Magistrate’s Court on July 28.
According to reports, the police rank was in a fight with someone and he allegedly wounded that person. He was reportedly driving a vehicle that collided with another.
He was released on his own recognizance after he appeared before Magistrate Sunil Scarce.
