The Guyana Watch Medical Team is once again conducting its Medical and Dental Outreach Programme. The outreach will commence today and will culminate on July 24, 2016. The 28-member American team with 11 medical doctors in various fields of specialization, three Dentists, one Pharmacist and support staff will facilitate the outreach.
During this year’s programme, the team expects to see well over 3,500 patients, at seven Clinics across Guyana. There will be clinics for children at 11 orphanages.
“We will distribute over US$500,000 in medication and conduct Medical and Health Counseling at these clinic sites,” Guyana Watch revealed in a statement.
The team will be conducting its first medical clinic for the orphanages today and will head to Canje/Rose Hall Primary School tomorrow. On Monday, July 18, the Team will be at the Patentia Secondary School and will be at the Leonora Primary on Tuesday, July 19, 2016.
Thursday, July 21, 2016 the Team will at the Soesdyke Primary School and on Friday July 22, 2016 it will be at the Linden Primary School. The Timehri Primary School will be the venue on Saturday, July 23, 2016.
Over the years, Guyana Watch has sent more than 60 children for heart surgeries in the United States and India. The Team was also involved in Eye surgeries in Guyana, Kidney Transplant and Educational Programmes. It has also given out over 10 University of Guyana Scholarships, and financially assisted many others in Guyana for advanced medical treatment. The Team moreover is continuing its humanitarian work, reaching out to underserved communities and providing assistance required.
