A hoard of sponsors has rushed on board in support of the grand one day horse race meet organized by the Rising Sun Turf Club in collaboration with the Guyana Association of Women Police.
The meet which is slated for Sunday 17th July at the club’s entity Arima Park, Rising Sun West Coast Berbice will see five races listed on the day’s card.
Among the major sponsors on board are Banks DIH Limited, Trophy Stall, Jumbo Jet, Peter Lewis Associated Construction, BM Soat, Sheriff racing Stable and Business Entity, P and P Insurance Brokers, Buddy Shivraj and Shano and Sons among others.
Entries were expected to close yesterday with over 40 horses entered for the event which have over $2M in cash and trophies up for grabs.
The feature event is for horses classified E and lower with a winning purse of $300,000.
The J class race has a winning purse of $160,000 and trophy. The K class event is for a winner’s money of $140,000 and trophy. The ‘L’ class gallop has a top prize of $120,000 and trophy.
The final event is for Guyana Bred maiden two year old horses for a take home pay of $100,000 and trophy.
Other incentives on offer will be for champion jockey, champion stable and champion trainer compliments of the Trophy Stall Bourda Market and the organizers.
