Tomorrow evening at 19:00 hrs the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) at the club’s pavilion in Lance Gibbs Street in Queenstown, will hold its Annual Awards Ceremony to honour their Junior cricketers who excelled in both cricket and Academics in 2016/16.
The Club, which produced Clive Lloyd, Lance Gibbs and Roger Harper among other prominent cricketers, will induct a new Patron to succeed the late Aubrey Bishop and will be staging an Investiture Ceremony of its new Patron
DCC will be recognizing and presenting Awards to a number of its players who have been selected to represent Guyana at Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19 levels of the 2016 Regional Cricket Competitions. These junior players include Kemo Paul and Tevin Imlach, both products DCC who made us and the Region proud at the recently held ICC under -19 Cricket World Cup Tournament in Bangladesh.
Also featuring in the proceedings will be their cadre of promising players who displayed tremendous potential and whom we wish to encourage. This event will also commemorate the induction of distinguished Members/Parents. A cocktail reception will follow.
