The recent intense rivalry among local Chess players has witnessed scintillating performances from the likes of Anthony Drayton, Wendell Meusa, Taffin Khan and top female player Maria Verona Gonsalves.
These players have taken Chess to a higher level and one is never certain which of them will cart off the spoils. And so it is with that the pundits will be hard pressed to establish a winner when the Guyana Chess Federation (GCF) stages a 3 days FIDE-rated tournament dubbed the ‘Andrew Arts Memorial’ and slated for the National Resource Center, Woolford Avenue, tomorrow afternoon starting at 13:00hrs and culminates next Saturday, July 2, at 12:00hrs and Sunday July 3 at 09:30hrs. The registration fee is GY$500.00.
The GCF has expressed its gratitude to Andrew Arts for its generous patronage, and invites all chess enthusiasts to participate.
