The Paton, Management and Members of the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club, MS would like to congratulate the eight Club members who were selected in the Guyana Under-20 Cricket Team to play in a Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board tournament for Caribbean female teams. As a Club, we are very proud of the fact that over half of the team are official members of Guyana’s leading youth and sports organisation and plays for the Rose Hall Town Metro Female team, a release from the club stated.
The players selected are Captain of the team Plaffina Millington, Shenneta Grimmond, Marian Samaroo, Diana Devi Prahald, Aleema Arokuim, Shabika Gajnabi, Shauna Vanderstoop and Rushanna Lynch. The Club views their selection on the Guyana team as just rewards for our massive investment in female cricket over the last eight years. Despite numerous problems especially in the lack of any other female cricket teams in Guyana, our female Cricketers have dedicated themselves to training everyday under the astute leadership and mentorship of West Indies players Shemaine Campbelle, Tremayne Smartt and Erva Giddings.
We would like to wish the Guyana Under 20 Female Cricket team under the inspirational guidance of Coach Julian Moore, the best of luck in Trinidad. We are confident that while most of them are inexperienced at this level, they would represent our national colours with pride, dedication and passion. We would like to recommit ourselves to continuing our investments at all levels of the game especially at the youth and female levels. The Club would also like to offer congrats to our members Kevin Sinclair, Slyus Tyndall and Kevlon Anderson on their selection on the Guyana Junior teams for upcoming West Indies Cricket Board Tournaments at the Under 17 and Under 19 levels. The trio is among our finest talent and would represent us well.
The Club would like to express gratitude to each of our official sponsors at the cricket level – Farfan and Mendes Ltd, Bakewell, Pepsi, Metro Office Supplies and Gizmos & Gadgets for their investments into the development of our cricketers over the years. Special mention must also be made of Western Union and Trinidad Cement Ltd (Guy) for providing gears and sponsorship of our Cricket Academy respectively.
The Club would also like to acknowledge the outstanding contribution of coach Winston Smith for the role he played in assisting our female cricketers to fulfill their potentials.
