Do the City Councillors have any power?
Dear Editor;
Kindly permit me to state my view on this matter that is necessary to the public. I find it very silly that a council which is a body of people cannot sanction the Town Clerk who is a paid staff of the council and only the Minister of Communities can so do. Then what really is the purpose of the members of that council? Why do they not have the responsibility to move a motion against the town clerk? Why would the town clerk or the mayor want to make a decision regarding a very important project of this nature without the full knowledge of the council members? That is something to ponder upon, and only time will tell.
