Lucky fans can win cash prizes at all 34 CPL matches
(CPL) The Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) are delighted to announce a new three-year extension with the Guardian Group who will remain as an Official Partner of the biggest party in sport until 2018, a CPL release informed.
Guardian Group will also provide support through its support of the “CPL Volunteers Programme”, which aligns with their strong Community transformation ethos around the Caribbean through committed and engaged staff voluntarism.
In addition, through the “Guardian Catch for Cash” competition all 34 CPL games, a clean one-handed catch by a lucky member of the crowd will win the catcher USD $1,000, the second catcher in the game $2,000, the third catcher $3,000.
Commenting on the deal, Mr. Jamie Stewart, Commercial Director of CPL, said: “It is an absolute pleasure to welcome Guardian Group as CPL Partner for three more years. Guardian were one of the very first companies to support CPL when it was just an idea on a page and it is gratifying to have them continue with us for three more years.
“As a reflection of their Community focus they will continue to support our Event Volunteers programme and fans will no doubt be excited to learn that catching a ‘six’ during the forthcoming CPL will earn them an instant cash reward and global fame as part of the celebrated “Guardian Catch for Cash”. On behalf of the CPL, and all our fans, I would like to thank Guardian for helping make this landmark event possible.”
Mr. Larry Olton, Guardian Group Vice President, Integrated Marketing Communications, reaffirmed Guardian Group’s commitment to what has become the most anticipated and exciting sporting event in the Caribbean. According to the Group VP, “this event captures the diversity, excitement and passion of the people of the Caribbean and brings the rest of the world to our shores.
Mr. Olton congratulated the CPL on the growth of the league and entry into the US market and emphasized that “like the Hero CPL T20, Guardian Group is also committed to the growth and transformation of our communities through sport, and we are proud once again, as a founding Official Partner, to continue to build on the successes of the tournament, and the inspiration it provides to our young athletes.”
The Hero CPL 2016 will be played between June 29 – August 7 at venues across seven territories – Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, Trinidad & Tobago and Fort Lauderdale in the USA.
Last year’s tournament attracted a global audience in excess of 90 million and this year is set to be even higher as fans across the world continue to be drawn to the high quality action on the pitch and the unique party atmosphere off it.
