The occupants of an ambulance transporting a patient from New Amsterdam to Georgetown, were lucky to escape injuries when the ambulance crashed into a lumber lorry on the Hopetown Public Road, West Coast Berbice, at approximately 17:30hrs yesterday.
Reports state that the lorry which had been travelling east, was turning right into James Street when the ambulance, which was travelling in a westerly direction, crashed into the lumber projecting from the lorry.
Authorities were forced to summon another ambulance to take the patient to Georgetown.
