DDLs’ most popular brand is once again the official spirit of the Guyana Amazon Warriors
Demerara Distillers Limited has once again thrown their support behind the Guyana
Amazon Warriors, with El Dorado as the official spirit partner for the third consecutive year. This is the second year that the beverage giant has widened their support to include Gatorade being the official sports drink of the Guyana Amazon Warriors.
DDL is already a Major Partner of the HERO CPL T20, with El Dorado Rum being the official spirit of the HERO CPL T20.
At the formal signing ceremony CPL Guyana Team Operations Manager, Omar Khan, said that the Guyana Amazon Warriors are delighted to partner with DDL and their world famous El Dorado Rum as an official Team Sponsor.
‘This partnership means a lot to the Amazon Warriors as we aim to bring glory to the entire population of Guyana by capturing the CPL 2016 Trophy. Our team includes international players such as Martin Guptill, Chris Lynn and Adam Zampa and together with our local players Christopher Barnwell, Devendra Bishoo, Veerasammy Permaul, Anthony Bramble, Steven Jacobs and winning West Indies Under 19 Captain Shimron Hetmyer. I am certain that they will embrace this association with an International Brand such as El Dorado and more so as a product of the home of the Guyana Amazon Warriors’ Khan noted.
Mr. Komal Samaroo, Executive Chairman of Demerara Distillers Limited, noted that ‘The cricket culture captures the essence of who we are as a Caribbean people as it showcases some of our greatest talents. Through our El Dorado brand, we are pleased to be associated with the HERO CPL Tournament and this format of the game. Through this sponsorship and the marketing activations planned to coincide with the matches, we are giving our loyal El Dorado consumers an opportunity to enjoy our brand as much as they enjoy the game’.
The HERO CPL T20 Tournament opens in Trinidad on June 29 with the Trinidad Knight Riders going up against the St. Lucia Zouks. The games come to Guyana from July 7 to July 12 and tickets are already on sale at the CPL Camp and Quamina Streets Office in Georgetown.
This year El Dorado is giving fans an opportunity to win instant prizes with the purchase of any El Dorado 750ml product in stores and at the Providence Stadium. The grand prize this year is a VIP Crew Weekend experience at the final.
