The night’s feature match ended in a 0-0 stalemate between point’s leaders Western Tigers and old rivals, Camptown.
Riddim Squad took some time to penetrate the defence of the Flamingo side and once they did, two quick goals materialized which sealed the match there way. Amos Ramsay it was who broke the deadlock on 33 minutes with his teammate, Rolex Smith doubling the advantage three minutes later as the first half ended 2-0 in Riddim Squad’s favour.
The second half was just as fiercely contested as the first but this time around, it was Flamingo that rocked the nets on 60 minutes thanks to an Orlando Ricketts goal. With the momentum now swinging their way, Flamingo tried their utmost to get the equalizer but it was not to be; Riddim Squad were able to defend their one goal advantage to walk away with full points.
Two more matches will be played at the same venue from 18:30hrs today. Beacon will open against Northern Rangers with the feature game between Police and Santos. (Franklin Wilson)
