Dear Editor,
Mr Editor, please allow me some space in your newspaper to highlight a problem affecting us on the East bank Of Berbice. I am a concerned citizen living at Sisters village East Bank Berbice for the past 40 years, since then I never saw the station with a vehicle.
To my view it is unfair to the ranks of the station and the members of the community. It’s only lately I get to know that the Sisters police station, station district start from Edinburgh Bridge to Mara Village East Bank Berbice. When I checked the distance its over 17 miles the station has to control without a vehicle. I really want the relevant authorities to look into the matter and give the station a vehicle; we can’t wait until things get out of control and then take action.
What is more disturbing the Community Policing Group has a vehicle that is parked in front of a C.P-G member house in Glasgow Housing Scheme and is use for personal benefits, while the station is without a vehicle.
Mr Editor I would like this matter to be highlighted in your highly creditable newspaper. I think this matter should be address urgently and the same vehicle should be given to the police to be used.
Mr Editor, I don’t think that is way we want to fight crime. Recently there were a number of robberies in the East bank Berbice area and police had to respond from till in New Amsterdam .Old people have a saying “too late shall be the cry”; please don’t let it be too late, but early.
Concerned citizen
