Matches in the inaugural NAMILCO/GFF Flour Power National Under-17 League will continue this evening across Guyana.
West Demerara will host one match today and another tomorrow at the Den Amstel Community Centre ground. Today from 12:00hrs, Slingerz will boot up against Wales United, while tomorrow’s game will bring together Den Amstel and Eagles from the same time.
The East Demerara Football Association will launch their league with an official opening and march-past of the competing teams from 12:00hrs today at the Golden Grove ground.
Up in the Ancient County of Berbice, they will also launch their league with a march-past of the competing teams tomorrow at a venue which will be confirmed today. Berbice was scheduled to kick off on Sunday last but due to excessive rain, the Esplanade Park in New Amsterdam was left in an unplayable state.
The Berbice Football Association (BFA) is exploring the possibility of using the Scots School or Mahaicony grounds.
In the Capital City, the GFC ground will host matches today and tomorrow from 09:30hrs each day. Today, Order and Discipline will face Eastveldt with the main match bringing together GFC and Fruta Conquerors.
Tomorrow’s opening match pits Santos and Camptown with the final game between Pele and Alpha United.
The East Bank Football Association will run off four matches after kicking off last week Saturday. Today’s double header from 13:00hrs will see Kuru Kururu Warriors coming up against debutants Yarrowkabra Jaguars to be followed by Friendship facing Mocha Champs.
Tomorrow, Agricola Red Triangle will seek to rebound from their opening loss to Grove Hi Tech when they match skills with Diamond United with the main attraction between Grove Hi Tech which will be aiming for another win when they face off with Herstelling Raiders which suffered a heavy 11-0 loss to Soesdyke Falcons in their opening match.
