The Ministry of Health Soft Shoe Football Competition continues this evening with six more matches, at the Parade ground on Middle and Carmichael Streets, starting from 19:00hrs. The opening fixture will see Campbellville and Channel-9 Warriors square off, before Back Circle and West Back Road engage each other in the game to follow.
Leopold Street and North Ruimveldt then take to the field in the next encounter, before defending champs Sparta Boss tackles Holmes Street of Tiger Bay. Queen Street of Tiger Bay spring into action against Ministry of Health and this game precedes the clash between Kitty and Globe Yard in the final fixture of the evening.
Winner of the event will receive $300,000 and the Championship trophy, while second, third and fourth placed teams take home $200,000, $100,000 and $50,000 respectively. Other sponsors of the event include GTT, Lucky Dollar, Nigel Supermarket, Junior’s Jewellery, Star Party Rentals and 2-J’s General Store.
Meanwhile, play in the competition continues on Sunday at the Ministry of Health ground on Brickdam and Vlissingen Road. At 19:00hrs Sophia will oppose California Square; 19:45hrs West Front Road play Broad Street; 20:30hrs Tucville match skills with Albouystown; 21:00hrs Festival City face off with Alexander Village; 21:45hrs North East La Penetance engage Young Ballers; 22:30hrs Bent Street and Cross Street Werk-en-Rust contest the main event.
