House lot applicants in Regions Five and Six, will be one step closer to realising their dream of acquiring affordable housing, as the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) will be conducting outreaches in those regions.
According to Minister with responsibility for this sector, Ms. Valerie Patterson-Adams, these activities are aimed at taking affordable housing solutions to all, while ensuring equal opportunity for all.
Tomorrow the Minister and her team will facilitate serving members of the Guyana Police Force at the Albion Sports Complex, between 09:00 hours and 12:00 hours. After a short break the team will resume at 13:00 hours to attend to other citizens with all housing related matters.
The following day (Friday), the team will be at the Region Five, Regional Office (Fort Wellington) for another outreach. Serving ranks of the Guyana Police Force and residents of Burma will be attended to between the hours of 09:00h and 11:00h. The outreach will recommence at 12:00h through 16:00h, with the allotted time dedicated to other citizens with all other housing-related matters.
In an effort to have smooth flow of events, persons attending are urged to walk with all necessary documents.
These latest outreaches are aimed at intensifying the Ministry’s drive to ensure that affordable housing solutions are within the reach of all citizens.
Already for the year similar exercises have been conducted in Regions Three, Four, Five, Six, Nine and Ten.
To date the new administration, through the Central Housing and Planning Authority has allocated 1,400 house lots since taking office just over a year ago. A total of 251 lots were allocated during the period June to December 2015, whilst a total of 1,200 lots were allocated during the period, January to May 2016. These allocations span all categories; very low income, low income, moderate and high.
