GAPF / Fitness Express Claude Charles Mem./Intermediate C/ships on today
The scene is set for what is anticipated to be fierce battles when the Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation (GAPF) / Fitness Express / Claude Charles Memorial and Intermediate championships are held at the Critchlow Labour College, Woolford Avenue.
Athletes who have excelled at the Novice level will now be aiming to shine at the Intermediate level while the master’s athletes the likes of Winston ‘Little Master’ Stoby, ‘Big’ John Edwards and Farouk Abdool will all be taking on each other with the intent to be crowned champion in their respective categories as well as be in line for the overall accolades at stake.
Among the young brigade on show today will be Romario Gonsalves, Arif Imamdeen and Carlos Peterson among others.
Meanwhile, long time supporter, Trophy Stall has sponsored the Best Lifter Trophy in support of the sport and its continued development. The federation has noted that Trophy Stall has been a faithful corporate partner and has renewed its commitment to the sport.
Competition time today is 10:30hrs and fans are encouraged to support. Novelty events for spectators will be part of the day’s activities with the winners to receive gift vouchers compliments of Fitness Express. Other sponsors on board are Buddy’s Gym and Ms. Kathleen Paul.
