Yesterday, Magistrate Fabayo Azore, sitting in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court freed Mike Tyson of robbery under arms.
The Magistrate found the identification issue very problematic in that the victim stated that the perpetrator who robbed him at gunpoint was five feet, six inches in height and of brown complexion. However Mike Tyson was six feet three inches in height and of a light complexion. Furthermore, Defence Counsel Melvin Duke introduced evidence of Mike Tyson’s alibi which placed him on the Essequibo Coast on the day in question.
Tyson is now appealing his two previous convictions.
