The organizing committee of the “Four Horsemen Promotion” who recently held the 50th Anniversary Independence Cup horserace meet is extending their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all the below sponsors, the members
of the public and the various media houses in Guyana who contributed in one way or the other in making their one day horserace meet a success. The event was held on Sunday May 21st at the Port Mourant Turf Club, Corentyne Berbice.
The members of the management Committee would like to say a big thank you to the Government of Guyana, especially Director Of Sport Christopher Jones, Beverage Giants Banks DIH Limited, Delmur Trading Company, P&P Insurance Investments, Minister Joe Harmon, Latchman Mohabir, R.N Poonai, Ministry of Sport, Youth and Culture, Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and racing Stables, Lancer Auto Sales, Atlantic Marine Supplies-the home of all fishing equipmemt, Peter Williams Construction, Potaro Fuel Supplies, Assuria Insurance Incorporated, Southland Incorporated, Sankar Auto Works, Valvoline, N S Mattai, Ghansham Singh Engineering Service and Saw Mill of No 6,West Coast Berbice and Cordel of the USA and the Thunderbolt Sounds System among others.
According to coordinator Colin Elcock, despite the inclement weather, the activity was well organized and incident free. The committee would also like to say a special thanks to Commander B Division Assistant Commissioner Ian Amsterdam and ranks of the Guyana police force and to all for their unstinted support and look for their continued patronage for the next race meet.
