Winston Missigher upset Guyana’s foremost road race runner, Cleveland Forde yesterday to win the Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG) Golden Jubilee 10km Road Race.
Missigher ran 32:46 in his biggest win of road races to-date to beat Forde (33:24), who narrowly escaped Cleveland Thomas (33:25) for the top three. Nathaniel Giddings was fourth in 33:49, as Odwin Tudor (34:25) finished fifth among the Men.
For the women, Euleen Josiah-Tanner outclassed Ashanti Scott in 39:27. No time was provided for Scott on the official results sheet. Tiffany Bishop was third in 56:20.
Colin Mecurius won the Masters Men in 35:35 ahead of Guiltermo Odenhout (36:40) and Garry Hartag (38:07) respectively. Cyrleen Phillips won the Masters Women event in 49:12, ahead of Carla Benjamin (55:53) and Donna Tai in that order.
