Jumbo Jet stable dominates
Director Of Sport Christopher Jones presents the 50th Anniversary trophy to connections of The Jumbo Jet stable for Kings Knight victory in the feature event.
Kings Knight of the Jumbo Jet stable was crowned the new King of the track in Guyana. The animals imported from The USA showed that its previous win which came in its first race meet in Guyana was no fluke by beating a top notch field to take the feature event at the 50th Anniversary Independence Horserace meet.
The event which was held yesterday at the Port Mourant Turf Club track saw top runner CP Got Even pulling out at the last moment due to injuries. However, Kings Knight ridden by jockey Colin Ross showed its class as it ran from in the pack to steam away from its opponents down the homestretch to win by about eight lengths on a track which was made soggy by overnight rain.
For the win Kings Knight ran away with $1.2M and the 50th Independence Anniversary trophy which was presented by Director of Sports Christopher Jones. Princess She Not, Jack in My Style and Golden Blue Echo rounded out the money.
Release the Beast of the Jumbo Jet stable once again was furious as it ripped its opponents apart in the D, E and F class race.
It’s My Choice of the Jumbo Jet stable choose to win the G and Lower and West Indies Bred 3year old event.
The winner of the H2 and lower race was Red Rocket of the Jumbo Jet stable.
She is in Control of the Pluck stable took control of the Three year old Guyana Bred event.
Massiquita Dr of the Crawford stable once again doctored the field in winning the I3 and lower event.
Red Region of the Baker stable was hot as it won the J3 and K class race.
Replace the Heat of the Gray stable won the L and lower event.
The top jockey was Colin Ross with Trinidadian R Alli the runner-up. (Samuel Whyte)
