The Washington DC Jammers tour will bounce off Saturday night at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall with the United States of America-based team taking on Dyna’s Ravens in the feature game. Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) games will open game nights.
Ravens finished fourth in the National Club Championships: Road to Mecca III.
The schedule of the DC Jammers tour is below:
Saturday, May 21 – DC Jammers vs. Ravens (Fourth Place: National Club Championships). The first game will bring together Bishops’ High School against Government Technical Institute (GTI).
Sunday, May 22 – DC Jammers vs. Raiders (Runner-Up: National Club Championships). Tutorial High Takes on Plaisance Secondary in the first game.
Tuesday, May 24 – DC Jammers vs. Pacesetters (Third Place: National Club Championships)
Friday, May 27 – DC Jammers vs. Colts (National Club Champions). President’s College battle Marian Academy in the undercard.
YBG informed that the school games are all Under-19 games, but will feature some of the best U-16 prospects as Guyana continues to prepare to host the Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) U-16 Championships in July.
A release from the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) said that games start at 6:30 pm each night with admission being $1000 for Adults and children 12 and under free; the GABF said that Entertainment will also be a feature of each night.
Nigel Hinds is GABF President, while Chris Bowman is coordinating the youth basketball aspect while Clarence Wallerson manages the Washington DC Jammers.
