Mike’s Wellman overcame Fisherman XI by four wickets to win the final of the Ogle Sports Club T20 softball competition on Sunday.
Batting first, Fisherman XI were restricted to 90 all out in 15 overs. Jagdesh Persaud got 22; Wayne Jones claimed 3-24 and Hardatt Persaud took 2-26.
Mike’s Wellman responded with 91-6 in 14 overs with Rahul Persaud scoring 32; Jagdesh Persaud claimed 2-21.
Mike’s Wellman beat host Ogle SC by four wickets in their encounter played earlier. Ogle took first strike and managed 124 all out in 18 overs. David Harper struck 35, Richard Persaud 25 and Mahase Chunilall 22. Mike Singh snared 3-19 and Wayne Jones 2-26. Mike’s Wellman responded with 125-6 in 18 overs. Jones got 36 as Khalid Haslim captured 2-20 and Dharam Persaud 2-28. Mike’s Wellman pocketed $30,000.
