Tyrese Jeffrey and Priyanna Ramdhani win U-17 titles
The Trophy Stall Independence Open and Age Group Badminton tournament which started on
Wednesday May 11, 2016 at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall continued Thursday 12 May with action in the Open Men Singles, Under-17 Boys & Girls Singles.
Priyanna Ramdhani won the Under-17 Girls Singles, while Tyrese Jeffrey won the Under-17 Boys Singles titles in the action on Thursday.

Open Men’s Singles First Round:
Narayan Ramdhani defeated past national player Grandison Robinson: 21-13, 21-9
Ronald Chang Yuen defeated veteran William Holder: 21-15, 21-16
Darrell Carpenay defeated Lakshman Das: 21-9, 21-9
Open Men Singles Quarter-Finals:
Narayan Ramdhani defeated Tyrese Jeffrey: 21-10, 21-9
Marlon Chung defeated Ronald Chang Yuen: 21-15, 21-18
Avinash odit defeated Darrell Carpenay: 21-11, 21-13
Jonathan Mangra defeated Priyanna Ramdhani: 21-15, 21-14
Open Men Singles Semi-Finals:
Narayan Ramdhani defeated Marlon Chung: 21-5, 21-7
Jonathan Mangra defeated Avinash Odit: 21-17, 21-9
Under-17 Girls Semi-Finals:
Priyanna Ramdhani defeated Wonita Yang: 21-7, 21-6
Under-17 Girls Finals:
Priyanna Ramdhani defeated Priyanka Shivnauth: 21-7, 21-8
Under-17 Girls Third Place:
Gabriela Pertab defeated Wonita Yang: 21-9, 19-21, 21-8
Under-17 Boys Singles Round Robin:
Tyreese Jeffrey defeated Akili Haynes: 22-20, 21-18
Akili Haynes defeated Tyrese Richards: 21-13, 21-4
The Tournament continues today from 10:00am-12:30pm in the Under-11 & 13 Events and the Open Finals between Jonathan Mangra and Narayan Ramdhani and the Third place play off between Marlon Chung & Avinash Odit.
