Balls and bibs also formed part of the package which Fanfair said is to aid in the encouragement and development of players at the club which was once a household name in the Georgetown Football Association and Guyana.
“This donation to my former club is just a small way of encouraging the new executive and players. I have always been supporting because I love the sport and will always give back to assist, especially with the young players which is vital.”
Club President Romel Richmond in accepting the equipment noted that it is timely since they are looking for a sponsor to assist.
“I would like to convey the gratitude of the club to Mr. Fanfair for his timely donation to us, a club he has helped to build over the years as a former player and administrator. The uniforms and balls would go a long way in helping to shape a good future for us as we work towards reclaiming the former glory of the club in Georgetown and Guyana.”
Richmond also informed that CFC has keen on youth development, is working on enhancing its ground and will soon be rolling out its plan for community involvement noting that the community has always been important in the life of CFC.
Fanfair also shared that he is currently in Guyana to be part of the Jubilee Anniversary celebrations as well as to support the Golden Jaguars in their match on Sunday against Canada’s Under-23 Olympic team.
He informed that he runs an annual Independence football competition in Canada and this year’s activity is set for July 2nd where teams from New York including Pele and Camptown and another from Atlanta will all be part of what promises to be an exciting competition in celebration of Guyana’s 50th Independence Anniversary.
