During the opening of bids at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB), one consultant’s financial proposal was opened. The company is seeking to validate the rehabilitation works executed on the medium and low voltage distribution network at the Guyana Power and Light (GPL).
Back in 2014, the European Union (EU) had funded a US$64.5M project which had several components; to make GPL’s senior management more efficient; to introduce a strong Corporate Development Programme and to rehabilitate the existing distribution network as part of a strategic loss reduction programme.
There were also bids for the provision of audit services at the Audit Office of Guyana.
Under the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, bids were also extended to provide design and consultancy works for Rural Enterprise and Industrial Development Projects, which encompass call centres at Tuschen and Enmore. The engineer’s estimate for lot one was $47.5M, while the estimate for lot two was $12.9M.
In addition, there were also bids for a consultancy service to be provided at the Industrial Estate, Coldingen and Belvedere.
There was one bidder, under the Ministry of Education, for the procurement of two new 32-seater buses.
In addition, the Ministry of Education put out a contract for the supply, delivery, installation, testing and training of simulators at the Leonora Technical Vocational Training Centre.
Bidders also vied for the contract to supply, deliver, install and testing of photocopy machines at President’s College and Planning Unit.
There were also bids for the supply, delivery, installation and testing of equipment at the Linden Technical Institute.
In addition, there was a contract for the supply and deliver stationery at the Book Distribution Unit, NCERD, 68 and 21 Brickdam.
And finally, there was a contract for the supply, delivery, installation, testing and training of equipment for the science laboratory at the University of Guyana- Turkeyen.
