The long wait by customers of Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company for 4G services came to an end yesterday, as GTT launched their 4G services in the Water Street outlet.
Chief Commercial Officer, Gert Post, and Chief Executive, Justin Nedd, were present at the launch.
Post offered an overview of the services customers can look forward to receiving. He said that more than 85 per cent of customers would be accessing the blazing fast 4G which is thirty times faster than the previous network coverage.
He said that GTT would be making it easy for customers to get 4G in Georgetown and in the coming weeks, new areas would be added to the 4G network.
Post added, “Because we understand that customers will do more with more speed, GTT offers much better data plans that are flexible enough to suit everyone’s needs. We increased the amount of data included in our plans by up to three times whilst maintaining the same low price.”
“If you wanted minutes, you’d buy minutes. We do not force anyone to buy minutes when subscribing to a 4G data plan. Simply put, our plans are much better and up to 40 per cent cheaper. We also only have one set of data plans which you simply activate by dialing.”
“If customers want to make calls at the most affordable rates, GTT already provides Smart Talk bundles where you can call all numbers in Guyana and International for unbeatable prices. Smart Talk has been made even more attractive with new prices.”
Customers can get 4G by activating a data plan. Customers on an existing data plan will be upgraded at no extra cost. All unused data is rolled over once one re-subscribes at the expiry of a data plan. Post further stated that all smart phones sold by GTT come ready to experience 4G.
Customers will have the best 4G experience as the Chief commercial Officer stated, that GTT has connected all sites with the fiber optic cable and they have high capacity fiber optics all the way up to the major internet exchanges in the USA providing plenty of capacity which allows greater reliability, more bandwidth and faster speeds for all customers.
He thanked Minister of Public Telecommunication, Cathy Hughes, for her vision and foresight in paving the way for GTT to “Do More for our customers and Guyana.”
CEO Justin Nedd stated that GTT has invested over US$5 million in the 4G network and will continue to invest even more in the near future.
