The Guyana Power and Light Inc. (GPL) is preparing to upgrade power transmission and distribution to the town of Bartica, Region Seven.
Three days after President David Granger launched the township, located up the
Bartica, which was unveiled as a town on Saturday, is set for voltage upgrades starting this weekend.
Essequibo River, GPL, in congratulating the residents, reassured them of its commitment to delivering quality service and reliable electricity supply to Bartica.
Starting Thursday and until Tuesday, GPL said that remaining sections of the township currently receiving 4.16Kv will be upgraded to 13.8Kv.
“To effect this upgrade, line maintenance activities will be executed to facilitate the increased electrical energy transmission and distribution. In an effort to execute maintenance activities, power interruptions are necessary to ensure the safety of our workers and customers’ life and property. We are soliciting the patience of our customers as we execute our duties.”
