A magnificent century from national under-15 selectee Marvan Prashad and an outstanding all round performance from another national under-15 selectee Nigel Deodat led Blairmont CC to a massive innings and 356 runs victory over the hapless Bush Lot New Generation in the latest round of the 2016 Tenelec Inc Under-15, Two-innings Cricket Competition organised by the Berbice Cricket Board and sponsored by Tenelec Inc, a Telecommunications Firm out of Washington, USA.
The match played at the Blairmont Estate Ground saw the home team winning the toss, took first strike and amassed a mammoth 390 for 6 declared. Prashad led the way with 120 and got support from Deodat with 108, another national under-15 selectee, opener Fawaz Gaffoor 68, Shahid Baksh 23 and Romel Ross 20 offered support. Bowling for the visitors, R. Bhola and K. Evans took two wickets a piece for 68 and 74 respectively.
In reply, Bush Lot New Generation were bundled out for a disappointing 34. Left arm spinner Deodat came back with the ball to take 5 wickets for 9 runs off 5 overs and got support from Baksh who took 3 for 19 off 4 overs.
To avoid further embarrassment, the visitors failed to bat in their second innings after the follow on was enforced, forfeiting the game. Blairmont leads the points table in their group.
