The Ministry indicated that “parents, guardians, school administrators, and teachers are asked to ignore articles published on page 11 of the Thursday Edition of the Guyana Times Newspaper and by Citizens Report, an online news site. The articles in question state that ‘schools across Guyana to be closed and classes to be suspended, respectively, for Independence Anniversary week.’”
The Ministry’s statement made it clear that “the Ministry of Education did not make any such announcement.”
