The Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club, MS continues to attract support from corporate Guyana, with Guyanese of International Fame Fashion Designer, Sonia Noel joining forces with Guyana’s leading youth and sports organisation.
A RHTYSC, MS delegation led by Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster met with Noel, CEO of the Sonia Noel Foundation of Creative Arts and Founder/CEO of Fabulous Home International Reality Group DR. Karis Munroe at the famous Pegasus Hotel on Saturday last to discuss matters of interest to both organisations especially in the field of youth employment, sports, education and culture. Foster and Executive Member Mark Papannah inducted MS. Noel and DR. Munroe as Honorary Member of the RHTYSC, MS, while Noel was presented with the Club’s Highest Award, the Dolphin Awards of Excellence.
The Dolphin Award is specially reserved for 25 awardees who the Club views as youth role models, have worked selflessly for the development of youths and who inspire others to fulfil their true potentials. Foster welcomed both Noel and Munroe into the organisation and expressed confidence that they would bring experience, passion and commitment to the RHTYSC, M.S as Honorary Members. Noel, he stated was honoured with the Dolphin Award of Excellence for her outstanding work of promoting Guyana, the empowerment of women and making a positive difference in the lives of the less fortunate.
MS. Noel and DR. Munroe both expressed pleasure at being inducted as honorary members of such a dynamic organisation and pledge to work along with the Club. The RHTYSC, MS and the Sonia Noel Foundation of Creative Arts have agreed to work along to host an empowerment session for 500 youths in early June, a Berbice Fashion Designers Competition and the establishment of a movable Children Fun Park for less fortunate Kids in Region 6. The empowerment session would involve Noel and DR. Munroe in motivation sessions with students, sportsmen/women, young prisoners and young professionals, while funds raised from the Berbice Fashion Designers Competition would be used to purchase educational materials for students and sport gears for Clubs across Berbice.
The RHTYSC, M.S would shortly be spearheading the construction of a family recreation Centre with the Ministry of Social Protection as part of its effort to assist families to relax together. The long serving Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster stated that the Club’s cricket teams would use the establishment of the proposed moveable Children Play Park to visit villages and towns across Berbice to promote its Say No to Drugs, Crime and Suicide message to youths.
DR. Munroe also committed herself to assist the young cricketers of the RHTYSC, M.S with financial and real estate advice.
