The Guyana Boxing Association (GBA) Sunday wrapped up its final two-training camp for Schoolboys Juniors, who are preparing for this weekend’s Inaugural International Caribbean Schoolboys and Juniors, Youth and Female Boxing tournament to be held at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
The boxers were taken through paces by head coach Sebert Blake and team at the National Gymnasium and the Andrew ‘Six Head’ Lewis Gym.
The Association yesterday released the names of the team that will participate in the event against fighters from Caribbean countries including Jamaica and St Lucia. St Lucia is due to arrive here tomorrow evening, while Jamaica added Jerone Enniss (69kg) a light welterweight to their team to make it three boxers and a coach which arrive on Friday.
The Guyanese will be looking to make a strong impression on their regional counterparts and the recent camp was aimed at getting the youngsters ready to make their mark.
