Staff members of the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) were engaged in training to ensure that the thousands of visitors anticipated for the 50th Golden Jubilee celebrations have an unforgettable experience.
Minister Catherine Hughes distributes tourism items to a member of staff at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport during her tour of the facility.
Minister of Public Telecommunication, Catherine Hughes, who has responsibility for tourism, in addressing the staff of CJIA, explained that as the first persons the visitors see when they arrive in Guyana and last persons when they depart, it is imperative that the visitors have a pleasant experience.
The training was undertaken by the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA).
Minister Hughes told the staff, “When a customer walks up to you, they must be greeted with bright smiling faces and a warm welcome, leaving them satisfied and interested in returning”.
