Every rope has an end and that is what known character Basheer Harinauth, called ‘Boy’, found out. Harrynauth
was nabbed on Monday by cops in the backlands of Moleson Creek on the Upper Corentyne. He had been on the run for over seven months.
The man was sought for the murder of Shameer Ally, called ‘Kazac’36, a shady businessman of Grant 1805 Crabwood Creek. Ally was allegedly shot dead on Saturday October 24, 2015.
Harinauth was captured after police received information that he was hiding out in the backlands.
Ally, who was a known character, was found dead in his yard with a suspected gunshot wound. It was revealed that Ally who lived alone, was no stranger to the police. He was a known smuggler. He had a misunderstanding with a number of persons, including a man with whose wife he had a relationship. This led to constant altercations between the men.
He also had a falling out with one of his partners following a sour deal and a number of issues with other persons in the area due to his nefarious activities.
On the day in question, Ally had reportedly consumed a quantity of alcohol before going to a residence at Lot 15, Grant 1805, where he had an altercation with the occupants of that house. He reportedly destroyed a number of windows on the premises and left.
The man allegedly went home and a report was made at the station of the occurrence.
The police were in the process of conducting investigations when they visited the man’s home to make an arrest. After calling for some time and getting no response the police decided to enter the yard. Ally was found lying in a pool of blood.
Investigators reason that Ally after going home decided to take a bath and was ambushed in his yard.
No one heard anything including his relatives who lived next door, and two security guards who work at a next door sawmill.
In the meanwhile an autopsy performed on the body of Ally by Government Pathologist Dr Vivekananda Bridgmohan, at the Skeldon Hospital revealed that he died from shock and haemorrhage and multiple internal injuries due to a gunshot wound and laceration to the lung.
Three persons were initially arrested but were subsequently released following investigation.
