Parliamentarian Juan Edghill was yesterday charged for dumping a derelict vehicle on a parapet. He
appeared at the City Court.
Police said, Bishop Edghill, a former junior Finance Minister denied the charge which said that on April 17, last, at South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, he blocked the southern parapet of Sugar Cane Street by parking motor vehicle PFF 527, in breach of city government by-laws.
The court heard that the vehicle was in a neglected state with deflated tyres and overgrown grass surrounding it after it had been parked there for some time.
Prosecution evidence indicated that a city officer warned Edghill and gave him two weeks to remove the vehicle but he did not.
Magistrate Moore placed the parliamentarian on self-bail and ordered him to return to court on April 25 for statements.
