Local motor racing fans will have the opportunity to witness first hand and support
Guyanese competitors expected to compete at the opening leg of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC) set to be staged on May 21-23 at the Jamwest Raceway in Westmoreland, Jamaica.
Making it possible is regional airline Fly Jamaica, an official sponsor of motor racing in the Caribbean and a supporter of the sport here in Guyana.
President of the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club Raj Boodhoo speaking with Kaieteur Sport yesterday via telephone said that the airline is offering to take passengers to the opening leg of the CMRC Series for a substantially reduced cost of US$488, but passengers will be required to depart on May 19 for the island.
Boodhoo, who recently was elected for another stint as Head of the club, is urging all motor racing fans to take advantage of the offer and get to Jamaica in their numbers to experience the thrill of the sport in another country and at the same time support the defending two-time champions.
The sport according to Boodhoo is enjoying much success at the moment with Guyana being the current overall champion as well as having the Top individual Car and Superbike champions in Kristian Jeffrey and Elliott Vieira.
Boodhoo extended his gratitude on behalf of the Club to Fly Jamaica for its continued support towards motor racing and assured that Guyana that is sending a strong contingent will make them proud.
