The Port Mourant Cricket Club (PMCC) gained first innings points from Guysuco Training Center when play in the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) – New York Business Group- One-Day, Two-Innings Under-19 cricket Competition 2016 continued in Berbice.
In their latest match played at the Port Mourant Community Centre Port Mourant. Guysuco Training centre won the toss and took first and were bundled out for 96 in 24 overs. Jomaul Butts with 45 and Kadeen Samuels 17 were the only batsmen to reach double figures.
Bowling for the Port Mourant Cricket Club, Berbice U19 pacer Nickolas Seenarine was the main destroyer with 4 wickets for 9 runs. Fellow Berbice U19 player Vivekanand Jagjit and Jamar Lancaster picked up two wickets each, while there was one each for Kevin Latiff and Sudesh Ghamandi.
Port Mourant in reply raced to 165 in 27 overs with Daniel Samaroo leading the way with 55. Totaram Rajaram supported well with 40(4×4).
In their second Innings, the GTC boys faced with a deficit of 69 reached 117 all out to gain a paltry lead of 48 runs.
Port Mourant in their second turn at the crease made a spirited effort to get the required runs to gain full points, but ended on 32-2, falling short by 17 runs when time expired at 17:00 hrs. (Samuel Whyte)
