Family members of 56-year-old Ganesh Narine, of Pomona Village are preparing to bury him after he was
involved in an industrial accident and later died.
Narine was pinned by a metal which fell and injured him over the weekend. He was working with a private firm, at Airy Hall, Essequibo Coast.
Reports are that Narine a father of seven was apparently sweeping paddy when the door fell on him. His colleagues rushed to his aid and transported him to the Suddie Public hospital where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries.
The police were alerted and they have since conducted their own investigations into the matter. It is not clear if the businessman has or would offer the family any compensation since it was an industrial accident.
