With just over three weeks away before race day preparations have intensified for the Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and Racing Stables one day horserace meet. The event which is being held in collaboration with the Bush Lot United Turf Club (BLUTC) is slated for Sunday 1st May at the club’s entity Sea View Park, Bush Lot West Coast Berbice.
The six-race meet is expected to see some of the best sprinters in the business on show as they compete for over $4M in cash, trophies and other incentives up for grabs.
At the moment extensive rehabilitation work is being undertaken at the venue with the entire track being dug, rolled and watered. Work is also ongoing on the stands, paddocks and other areas.
The feature event is slated for horses classified D1 and lower over 1400M for a winning purse of $800,000 and trophy from a total purse of over $1.5M.
The G1 and lower event has a winner’s take of $350,000 and trophy over 1400M. There is a 1400M event for three year old West Indies bred maiden and Open Guyana Bred horses for a top prize of $350,000 and trophy.
The H3 and lower event is another $1400M encounter and will see the animals racing for a winning pocket of $250,000 and trophy. Animals classified K and J and lower will be racing for a winning purse of $200,000 and trophy over 1200M.
The final event will be for animals classified L and lower over 1000M for a pole position taking of $150,000 and trophy.
The events will be held under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority.
The Organizing Committee reserves the right to cancel/refrain any race mentioned above.
