Major Cunjah, a Pomona Housing Scheme teenager who worked in the interior died hours after he lost
control of the motorbike he was riding. He skidded off the Aurora Public Road, Thursday evening.
Cunjah, 18, was the rider of the motorbike. His 20-year-old uncle, Warner Prashad, was the pillion rider. The duo was heading to their Pomona Housing Scheme home when the accident occurred.
According to family members Prashad and Cunjah were traveling from Supenaam Village to their Pomona Housing Scheme home when they were involved in an accident on the Aurora Public road.
Cunjah’s grandmother said that her grandson was the eldest child and only son for his parents. The weeping grandmother said that her grandson was transporting his uncle home when he lost control of his motorbike and skidded off the Aurora Public road.
The woman said someone assisted the two injured persons to the Suddie Public Hospital. Cunjah however succumbed to his injuries Friday morning. His uncle Prashad is currently nursing injuries. He remains a patient at the Suddie Public Hospital.
It is however unclear whether Cunjah and his uncle were wearing helmets.
Police at the Aurora Police Station are probing the recent road fatality.
Several weeks ago, 26-year-old, Lionel King was struck down and killed on the Maria’s Lodge Public Road. The driver drove away without rendering assistance but was later arrested. (Yannason Duncan)
