The 2015-2016 NACAM Formula 4 Championship continued with round 4 at Pegasus Dynamic Center Toluca, Mexico this past weekend. The field was less than the anticipated 19 cars. The young18 year old
phenom from Trinidad and Tobago, Frankie Zackary Boodram in the Speedway TCR Motorsport # 46 had a bad weekend. The team was unable to get to the starting grid due to extensive damages to the engine sustained during round 3 when the car went airborne into a fence and tree. The engine was rebuilt but, after practice, the engine was still not right so, the team spent Friday night rebuilding the engine again but, unfortunately, the team was unable to prep the car for any of the scheduled 3 races; Thus, 3 DNS (Did not Start) for Boodram.
Whereas, Calvin Ming in the # 4 Ming Guyana team faired a bit better though, they missed qualifying and race # 1 due to mechanical issues. Which meant that Ming had to start at the rear of the field, he quickly made his way through the field by passing the most cars all the way to a 3rd place podium finish in race # 2.
Unfortunately, the 3rd race had a lot of accidents with numerous contacts and yellow flags with a few controversies as Calvin was unable to go the full distance. These two young racers from the Region will retool and take what they’ve learned from round 4 and concentrate on round 5 next on the calendar on Apr.30-May.1 at Autodromo de Monterrey, Apodaca, Nuevo Leon.
