The Ministry of Labour in collaboration with the Linden Hospital Complex, Linden Electricity Company Inc, BOSAI and the Guyana Water Inc will be hosting a month of activities to celebrate Occupational, Safety and Health month under the theme “Work Place Stress – A Collective Challenge”.
The month of activities began on Friday with a Thanksgiving Service at the Watooka House. This was followed by the Mounting of Banners in Linden, Kwakwani and Ituni at various workplaces.
In Linden banners will be mounted at the Linden Hospital Complex, Upper Demerara Hospital, Mackenzie Post Office, BOSAI, GWI and the Regional Democratic Council. In Kwakwani and Ituni the banners will be mounted at the hospitals.
During the month of activities Linden will have their fair share with a Health and Safety Awareness Walk on April 08th from the Linden Hospital Complex to the Linden Georgetown Bus Park. A Disaster Awareness/ First Aid Seminar is also planned for April 14 at the Watooka House and a Workshop at the Linden Hospital Complex.
There will also be a Seminar on Establishing a Health and Safety Committee for the Regional Democratic Council and the Mayor and Town Council in the RDC Boardroom on April 20, next. On April 21, there will be a Safety and Health Workshop at the Watooka Club.
According to sources from the Ministry of Labour, Bosai also has some internal activities planned. All stakeholders are asked to attend these activities.
