The executives and members of the Berbice Volleyball Association (BVA) will be holding a general members meeting today, starting at 13:00 hrs at the Port Mourant Training Centre Hostel, Port Mourant Corentyne Berbice.
The main purpose of the meeting is to review the BVA’s performance so far for the year, look at plans for the rest of the year and plan fund raising activity. The BVA has been one of the most active associations in the country for the year so far with numerous activities being completed.
A number of outreaches were held including one to the riverain communities of Orealla/Siparuta, another to Black Bush, while one was held at Skeldon for Youth and females. Another was held on the West Coast of Berbice for youths.
A number of seminars, workshops and coaching courses were also held throughout the country for teachers, players, females and youths. The association U19 teams also just returned from an overseas trip to Trinidad.
A packed programme is on the cards for the rest of the year and according to BVA President Levi Nedd, one of the aims of the meeting is to see how the association has performed so far and put systems in place for a successful completion of the year’s programme. (Samuel Whyte)
