2016 Tenelec Inc Under-15, Two-innings Cricket Competition in Berbice
The 2016 Tenelec Inc Under-15, Two-innings Cricket Competition organised by the Berbice Cricket
Board and sponsored by Tenelec Inc. a Washington DC based Telecommunication Firm, got started recently with Berbice Under-15 allrounder Leon Swami hitting the first century of the competition for Tucber Park in their match against Young Warriors.
In the match which was played at the Cumberland Ground, Tucber Park won the toss and batted first. Opening the batting were Swami and Daniel Dharamdat. The two of them put on 30 for the opening stand and after Dharamdat fell for 15, Swammi and Romel Retimah added another 20 before the latter went for 7 at 50 for 2.
Anthony Williams came in and he and Swami put on another 70 between them after which Williams fell for 32.
Swami continued to hold the innings together and batted on with the middle and lower order before he eventually fell for 114 at 190 for 7. His knock included 5 fours. Tucber Park eventually declared at 205 for 8 made in 76 Overs.
Bowling for Young Warriors, Abdul Ramsammy took 2 for 17, Berbice Under-15 offspinner Aaron Beharry 2 for 47 and Zaynul Ramsammy 2 for 75.
With Young Warriors only left with one hour for their 1st innings before the close of play, they were able to reach 48 for 2 with Berbice Under-15 batsman Carl Gilgeous making 22.
Without a first innings decision, both teams got 4 points each.
