Imran Hussain, owner of Wolf Furniture World of Leonora West Coast Demerara, and also owner of one of Guyana’s foremost softball cricket teams, Wolf’s Warriors, is sponsoring the next nationwide softball tournament. This tournament is for both males and females and will be manged by the Guyana Floodlight Softball Cricket Association and will be called the ‘Wolf’s Memorial Challenge Cup.’
This competition is being held in honour of Emam Hussain, the father of Mr. Imran Hussain, who passed away twenty-one (21) years ago in 1995. The Wolf’s Memorial Challenge Cup’ will be played in three (3) categories. These are Male Open, Female Open and Male Masters. The Male Masters category will be for players who are 43 years or older. That is, a player must be born in 1973 or before. The tournament starts on Sunday 3rd April.
The prizes for the Open Male and Masters winners are $100,000 and a trophy, while the runners-up will receive $25,000 and a trophy. The Female Open winners will receive $50,000 and a trophy, while the runner-up will receive $25,000 and a trophy. There will be a trophy and $5,000 for the players of the tournament. Additionally, the players of the finals will receive a trophy and $5,000.
